Get a New, Flawless Smile Fast
Your smile shows a glimpse of who you are. Dental imperfections can diminish your confidence and make you want to hide your smile.
If your teeth are cracked, crooked, discolored, or have gaps, veneers are a quick and easy way to enhance your smile. In just two visits to our Brentwood office, Dr. Rice can give you the smile you really want.
Porcelain veneers are a durable, natural-looking alternative to fix imperfections in your smile. They’re thin porcelain shells that attach to the surface of your teeth, eliminating a variety of issues. Veneers are stain-resistant, don’t scuff easily, and won’t change color over time.
Who Is A Candidate for Veneers?
Are you embarrassed about your smile? Veneers improve the appearance of your teeth by changing their color, shape, size, or length to create a seamless-looking smile. They’re commonly used to fix:
- Chipped, cracked, or broken teeth
- Gaps between teeth
- Discoloration or stains
- Misaligned, uneven, or irregularly shaped teeth
- Small or worn down teeth
If you have any of these minor imperfections, then you’re a candidate for porcelain veneers. Not only will veneers enhance your smile, but they’ll also improve your oral health.
It’s a Fast & Easy Process
During your initial consult, Dr. Rice will evaluate what type of results you want and discuss your treatment options. If you choose veneers, we can begin the process right away.
We’ll take an impression of your teeth to determine which color and shape will seamlessly blend with your smile. Then Dr. Rice will send these high-quality images to our dental laboratory to create your veneers. This process typically takes two to four weeks.
Once your veneers are ready, we’ll be ready to complete the final step in revitalizing your smile. Dr. Rice may need to remove a small portion of enamel from the surface of your tooth to ensure your veneers will fit perfectly. We’ll also clean and polish your teeth for smooth placement.
To ensure you won’t feel any pain or discomfort, Dr. Rice will numb the affected area before placing your veneer. She’ll then precisely place your veneer over the prepared tooth and secure it using a special dental adhesive.
After just two appointments, you’ll have a beautifully restored smile that you can be proud of.
Frequently Asked Questions About Veneers
Are veneers permanent?
No–Veneers typically last 10 years, but with proper care, they can last 20 years. To improve the longevity of your veneers treatment, we recommend scheduling professional cleanings and exams twice a year at our Brentwood office.
In addition to scheduling regular appointments, you’ll want to follow a regular oral hygiene routine by brushing twice a day, flossing daily, and rinsing between meals. For lasting results, you’ll also want to:
- Address teeth grinding
- Refrain from biting into hard foods such as apples
- Wear a mouthguard if you play contact sports
- Avoid using your teeth as tools
Do veneers ruin your teeth?
No — veneers can actually reinforce the strength of your teeth, especially weak teeth that are prone to damage. Veneers also provide a cover to protect your teeth. However, when preparing your teeth for porcelain veneers, we’ll need to shave off part of the enamel to make room and provide a surface for them to adhere to. Lumineers on the other hand can often be placed without altering your existing tooth structure.
Is the process of getting veneers painful?
The process of getting veneers is simple and pain-free. Dr. Rice will be sure to numb your teeth prior to the procedure so you won’t feel a thing. She’ll also be in constant communication with you to ensure you’re comfortable throughout the treatment.
After your veneers are placed, your gums may be sore for a few days. It’s normal to experience sensitivity to hot and cold beverages and foods as well. After a few days, you’ll be feeling like yourself and looking better than ever.
Are there any risks associated with getting veneers?
Veneers have been around since the 1920s and are considered a trusted treatment to fix a variety of dental issues. While most people have a great experience with veneers, there are a few things you’ll want to look out for, including:
- If food is accumulating around the edges, you’ll need to have them adjusted
- If veneers aren’t bonded properly, they may turn a grayish color from food particles getting trapped underneath the veneers
- If veneers are too large, they can cause a gum infection
While issues are rare, you’ll want to be sure to undergo the procedure with a trusted dentist such as Dr. Rice to mitigate risks and ensure the best possible outcome for your new flawless smile.
