Meet Dr. Kellye Rice

Dr. Kellye Rice earned her Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) degree from University of Alabama, Birmingham; and has been practicing general and cosmetic dentistry since she opened her practice in Cool Springs in 1986.

She is recognized by the American Dental Association and the Tennessee Dental Association as being in the Top 10% of the profession for exceeding Continuing Education requirements. She excels at Cosmetic and Reconstructive Dentistry, but puts the basic health of the mouth first in all her treatment planning for her patients. In 2012 she expanded her emphasis in Laser Dentistry and Dental Sleep Medicine at Cool Springs Laser Dentistry.

Dr. Rice has been married to her husband Jeff for 35 years. They have 3 grown children, Haley, Hunter and Hope, but no grandchildren… yet. She loves theater, music, reading and jewelry making. She also holds close the little-known secret that she plays the drums, piano, and violin, although the latter must be done when no one else is in the house!

Dr. Rice is a member of the Otter Creek Congregation and is also very passionate about the non-profit that she has worked with for almost 20 years… Morningstar Sanctuary Shelter for Domestic Violence.

What Our Patients are Saying

Great job! You’ll stop dreading going to the dentist!

I had to have a cavity filled and Dr Burd and staff couldn’t have made it a more pleasant experience. If you’re like me and you’d rather do almost anything but go to the dentist, which I did for way too long, you’ll find it a painless, pleasant experience. I can honestly say that I no longer dread going to the dentist! Thanks Dr Burd for your care and for checking on me that evening!

Hank Y.

Sincere Staff

Going to the dentist is one of my least favorite things. However, Dr. Rice and her staff always make me feel comfortable, and at ease. I’m so grateful that I’m a patient there! I always receive top notch care with a whole lot of heart behind it.

Debbie B.

Top quality organization thru and thru.

This group of professionals go far beyond expectations. Everyone on the staff exhibits professionalism. From the moment I make an appointment thru my visit I’m made to feel at home and that they truly care.

Warm Fuzzy Professionals

I felt at home and not at the dentist because Dr. Rice and her staff make you feel so welcomed. They genuinely care about you and your Dental and Sleep Apnea needs and are there to help. Their passion for what they do shows!

Great people, doctors and quality service

Dr Rice and staff are friendly, professional, prepared and provide the most comfortable dental experience I have ever had.

I don’t dread the dentist anymore.

Two years ago you had to push pull or drag me to the dentist. Now I look forward to it since I switched to Dr. Rice. Confident and friendly staff from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave. Affordable and fair rates. Just try them for yourself and make up your own mind on it. You will agree.

High quality service, very professional and friendly!

I had a cleaning done by Elaine, one of the hygienists at Coolsprings Laser Dentistry, and it was a great experience! The staff here are “top-of-the-line” and they made me feel comfortable and at ease. I highly recommend Dr. Rice and her staff at Coolsprings Laser Dentistry.

Caring, compassionate professionals

Dr Rice and her team were friendly and respectful, and got me in quickly with an urgent problem. From introductions to diagnosis to remedial (extraction) action in one visit. This was easily the best dental experience I have ever had. Painless in every sense of the word.

Very good service, informative and thorough

Very relaxing environment and informative staff. On the cutting edge of the newer technology.

Treated like one of the family

I was impressed with the in depth detail and amount of time they took assessing my dental health. I was told everything going on – they dealt with my small mouth and worked with my gagging! Sounds weird but it made a huge difference in my dental experience!

Practice Update Regarding COVID-19

Dear Valued Patient,

In addition to following standard precautions, we are implementing some changes encouraged by the ADA to ensure the safety of our patients as well as our team members.

You may notice these differences when visiting our office:

  • All toys and magazines will remain removed from the reception area.
  • All high-touch surfaces in common areas will be disinfected routinely throughout the day.
  • Upon arrival, you’ll be asked to sanitize your hands and wear a mask and gloves while in our office.
  • You’ll be asked about any recent travels or that of any family members/co-inhabitants.
  • We routinely take blood pressure in our office. We’ll take your temperature as well.
  • You’ll be asked to call us to alert us of your arrival. We’ll let you know when we’ve prepared your room and are ready to see you.
  • Once you have been brought to your exam or operatory room, you’ll be given a pre-procedural rinse to be used prior to beginning your treatment.
  • We spray the air with hospital-grade botanical electrostatic disinfectant between patients. The disinfectant we use has a dwell time of only 4 minutes — the shortest time available on the market.
  • We are continuing after-hours mist decontamination with the botanical disinfectant and weekend fogging disinfection by an outside company.
  • Team members continue to wear disposable gowns and extra PPE and are careful in their own personal social distancing.

Coronaviruses are envelope-type viruses and are the easiest to kill with the proper disinfectant. As always, try to keep your immune system healthy and wash your hands and body appropriately. Remember that stress can deplete your immune system too!
