Cosmetic Crowns and Veneers Q & A
Cool Springs Laser Dentistry
Why might a patient need cosmetic dentistry?
Cosmetic dentistry addresses issues that affect the way your mouth looks. These flaws may not affect your teeth’s function, but they can interfere with your confidence. Consult Dr. Rice to find solutions to:
- Yellow or dull appearance
- Crooked teeth
- Missing teeth
- Discolored veneers
- Gummy smiles
Before beginning any cosmetic procedure, the staff at Cool Springs Laser Dentistry will examine your teeth to identify the source of discoloration or misshaped teeth. Some imperfections could be symptoms of dental conditions that need other dental treatments.
What procedures are included in cosmetic dentistry?
The cosmetic dental treatments Cool Springs Laser Dentistry offers include complex procedures that reshape and transform your mouth, including the gums and teeth. Dr. Rice's restorative dentistry techniques include gum recontouring to eliminate "gummy" smiles and even out tooth lines, dental veneers to create a uniform appearance, fillings to prevent cracks from spreading, and other smile-enhancing procedures.
During your first visit, Dr. Rice will discuss your goals and treatment options. Whether you need a dental implant, teeth whitening, or a full smile makeover, she’ll create a custom plan that meets your cosmetic dentistry needs.
What results can a patient expect from in-office tooth whitening procedures?
Whether you're planning a wedding or simply tired of living with stains, the staff at Cool Springs Laser Dentistry understands that the color of your teeth matters. They offer quality teeth whitening with a one-time cosmetic dental technique that makes your teeth up to 10 times whiter in a single appointment. Our new ZOOM LED Whitening System uses best whitening agents at a lower strength so you are not so sensitive, but with the use of the LED Light, we can customize your appointment and increase lightening without as much sensitivity as with other products.
The products used in Dr. Rice’s office have concentrations of hydrogen peroxide and carbomide peroxide ranging from 25%-40%. Compare this to over-the-counter teeth-whitening products that typically have concentrations of 5% or less.
During a tooth-whitening visit, you’ll have a protective gel applied to your gums to reduce sensitivity. Plan for the appointment to last about 2 hours. You’re also provided with custom trays for continued use at home to further the whitening if you desire.
Is at-home teeth whitening available?
Dr. Rice also offers a custom in-home whitening kit. With this kit, you receive whitening products that are custom made to maximize your results and improve your smile. You use them on your own schedule in the comfort of your own home. The Cool Springs professional staff will give you specific instructions so you can rest at ease that you’ll get the results you want with no or limited side effects.
